Mamma Mia's Story

Here we go again! Mamma Mia is a 1-year-old female American rabbit who is available for adoption at CCHS! This little momma was transferred to us from another facility, so we don't have much background information on her. Mamma Mia is easy to handle and is social with people. She will accept treats from your hand as she nudges you with her nose. She also enjoys running about and binkying! Come meet this sweetie at CCHS!<br/><br/>Mamma Mia is a VOLUNTEER FAVORITE pet! Here's what Critter Socializer, Alexa, has to say about her:<br/><br/>"Mamma Mia is a sweet little lady! I fostered her and her babies, and they all brought such joy to my home. She loves to binky and gallop around, honestly like a tiny horse. It always cracks me up! She may seem timid at first, but once she warms up, she lights up the room. I loved whenever she'd hop up on the couch with me (even if she was trying to steal my spicy chips). This adorable goofy girl would make the most wonderful addition to your family."

Champaign County Humane Society's Adoption Policy
The first step toward adoption is coming to the shelter to meet the animals. Once you have decided on an animal you would like to adopt, you will be asked to fill out an adoption application followed by a brief interview with one of our adoption counselors. If you prefer to fill out an Adoption Application online ahead of time, please visit the CCHS website. While submitting an application online will save some time during your visit to the shelter, submitting an application online does not place a "hold" on an animal, nor is it a guarantee of adoption. It generally takes 24-72 hours for the adoption staff to complete processing applications, so we do not send animals home the same day. MULTIPLE APPLICATIONS: CCHS accepts up to three applications per pet and priority for adoption is given to the first family to submit an application. If interested in a specific animal, we recommend calling the shelter prior to your visit for more information on their status. Please bring a valid photo ID with you for your visit to the shelter. You must be at least 18 years of age to adopt from CCHS. Hours for Adoptions: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday: 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM Saturday and Sunday: 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM The shelter is closed on Tuesdays and major holidays.
