Jake’s FAQs

What is Dayton House Rabbit Society’s adoption process?

We require indoor housing. You may choose to have your rabbit be free roam in your home, but at any given time, at a minimum your rabbit should have a 4x4 'home base' to be returned to when you are away or unable to supervise playtime. An exercise pen, which can be purchased on Amazon, is our suggested housing. In their space, your rabbit should have a litter box, non-slip flooring, a hidey house of some sort, food/water dishes, and toys to keep them entertained. We only adopt to adults. Rabbits and young children are usually not a good match. Rabbits are prey animals and easily frightened by loud noises and they require just as much, if not more, care as a large dog. Although we do adopt to families with well-behaved children, an adult must take ultimate responsibility for the care and well-being of the rabbit.
