HERSHEY's Story
Meet Hershey, the 3 year old male rabbit. Hershey had lived with two other rabbits and got along well. Hershey is particular about how he wants to be handled and prefers not to be held. A rabbit savvy adopter would be best to read his body language and desensitize him to handling as needed for vet examinations and such. Hershey may do well in a home with another rabbit with a slow, thoughtful introduction. Hershey was previously housed in a hutch outdoors but would be best in primarily indoor living to keep him safe and healthy. Supervised time outdoors to stretch his leg may be appropriate in the future. Hop on down to meet him today! Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
