Ernie's Story

Bert and Ernie came to us in 2023 after being found in a public park, they were adopted fairly quickly because they are so sweet. The boys had to come back to us after some changes in the home and Ernie suffered an injury that resulted in a back leg amputation.

We had hoped to rebond them once Ernie was healed up but it hasn’t been going well. It’s possible that because of his disability Ernie isn’t as comfortable around other animals.

Ernie has no problem getting around in his enclosure but as he ages could develop some arthritis in his other back leg that is doing more work.
