Dr Fluffnerbunny's Story
Meet Dr. Fluffnerbunny.

First of all, incredible name. No notes.

We have a Name A Bunny option on our store website and, recently, a husband bought it as a gift for his wife. She was SO excited when we texted her this morning and told her we had a brand new intake waiting for a name.

Even better? That Name A Bunny purchase completely covers Dr. Fluffnerbunnys vet care.

Even though that story is wonderful, the story of her rescue is not.

We got a call about a dumped rabbit, which is sadly pretty standard around here.

Our volunteer rescue team tracked the bunny underneath a deck and crawled in after her. Except there was one fairly significant obstacle between our volunteer and Dr. Fluffnerbunny.

A HUGE snake.

Then they realized she had very recently given birth.

Her nest was empty.

We obviously cant know exactly what happened before our team arrived, but given the empty nest and the snake right beside her, we have serious reason to believe her babies had been eaten. And Dr. Fluffnerbunny was trapped underneath that deck with nowhere to go.

There was no safe way to reach her without dealing with the snake, so our volunteer did what he had to do to get her out.

And then this man CRAWLED BACK OUT FROM UNDER THE DECK HOLDING THE SNAKE.

We have pictures.
You will not be getting pictures.
Some things can remain exclusive Dollys trauma.

But Dr. Fluffnerbunny made it out.

She is understandably absolutely terrified right now. In a very short period of time, she was dumped outside, gave birth, lost her babies, encountered a predator and then had a human crawl underneath a deck to grab her.

Now she's somewhere quiet. She's safe. She has food, water, medical care coming, and absolutely zero snakes.

And somehow, before she even arrived, a complete stranger had already paid for all of that care just for the privilege of naming her something profoundly unserious.

Dr. Fluffnerbunny, welcome to Dollys.

You got here in the nick of time. And from here on out, life gets a whole lot less terrifying.
