Dottie's Story

Dottie is approximately 7.5 years old, born in 2019. She's approximately 6 lbs.

Dottie is a lovely older bun who has been working hard on becoming her healthiest, happiest self. When she arrived at Rebel, she was carrying extra weight. But a balanced diet of limited high-quality pellets and plenty of fresh hay, she's made wonderful progress and is well on her way to her trim, thriving future. Dottie has made wonderful progress with litter training and will continue to do so with a patient owner.

This sweet girl enjoys showing off her improved figure by standing up for the occasional treat. She's initially shy with new people, but in a calm, quiet home she will blossom into a trusting, affectionate companion. Dottie loves her naps and loafing sessions throughout the day, but don't let her relaxed nature fool you she does a speedy, joyful lap every morning when breakfast arrives.

Dottie is overall a healthy bun, though she does have an old, fully healed eye injury that affects her vision. It doesn't slow her down at all, but she can be startled easily, so gentle approaches are best. She gets around beautifully, plays happily, and enjoys exploring at her own pace.

With her calm temperament and sweet spirit, Dottie would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a quiet, easygoing bunny. She may also do well with another rabbit friend. Dotty is looking for her retirement home with a human who will love and spoil her.

When inquiring about Dottie, please check any spam folder for replies from our organization. Thank you.

Rebel Rabbit Rehoming, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
Rebel Rabbit Rehoming will screen adopters through application, interview, education and home check. Our adoption policy for domestic rabbits is designed to ensure that every animal is placed in a safe, stable, and well‑prepared home. Potential adopters begin by completing an application that gathers information about their experience with rabbits, household environment, and long‑term expectations. We require adopters to be at least 18 years old and to demonstrate the ability to provide proper housing, nutrition, and veterinary care. Because rabbits are social, sensitive animals, adopters are often asked about daily routines, available space, and plans for enrichment. We require indoor‑only housing to protect rabbits from predators, extreme temperatures, and outdoor hazards. If adopters already have rabbits, a meet‑and‑greet or bonding session will be required to ensure compatibility. All adopters must agree to provide ongoing medical care, including access to a rabbit‑savvy vet.
