CinnamonRoll with HoneyBun-in foster's Story
Meet Honey Bun and Cinnamon Roll! These two bonded bunnies are truly a package deal and are happiest when they're together. They follow each other everywhere, snuggle up together, and are pretty much stuck together like glue! Honey Bun is a curious and loving guy with a little bit of a stubborn streak. He LOVES treats and enjoys hanging out near his person-he would often sit by their feet while they got ready at the vanity. He isn't a big fan of being picked up, but he has plenty of personality and loves being close to his favorite bunny, Cinnamon Roll. Honey Bun is also very protective of her and wants to make sure he knows where she is whenever she leaves his sight. Cinnamon Roll is a much more nervous girl who takes her time warming up to people. She may hide when she's unsure, but once she feels comfortable, her sweet personality starts to shine. Her favorite place to be is right beside Honey Bun, and having him by her side helps her feel safe and confident. These two love each other dearly and will need to go home together. Their bond is very special, and they would love a patient family who will give Cinnamon Roll time to come out of her shell and allow both bunnies to settle in at their own pace. If you're looking for a pair of best friends, Honey Bun and Cinnamon Roll might be the perfect duo for you!
Adoption fees for rabbits is $75 for a single or a pair, and include veterinary exam and spay/neuter.

As most of our small animals are in fostercare, if you're ready to adopt now and want to learn more about this pet, the best way to start the process is to call us (413-781-4000 x 1) or email us at springfield@dakinhumane.org. The needs of each rabbit are unique and if you have questions about the right type of enclosure for the rabbit you are interested in, please let us know in your inquiry! We are happy to provide guidance and advice.

-For rabbits we recommend x-pens to create their safe space. Expect to spend around $100 on housing.
-Minimum requirements for enclosed spaces is 16 sq. ft. per rabbit.
-No wire floors please - they are bad for bunnies' feet
- Check in with Dakin to see if there are any available housing options in their Thrift Shop!

Check out these great resources from the House Rabbit Society! If there are two names listed together (eg Peanut Butter w/Jelly), that means that the two animals are a bonded pair of friends, and must be adopted together.

-Got a single at home you're looking for a friend for? Any animal listed alone on our website is a single and a great candidate
-A new friend will need a separate cage until friendship has been established
-Our rabbits are all spayed/neutered at 4 months of age; as long as one or both rabbits are neutered, mixing genders is okay.
-It takes time and patience to let the rabbits make friends with each other.
