Meet Chickpea

Chickpea is from a surprise litter of 11 kits born the day after his mom moved to our foster program. After the babies were old enough to be spayed and neutered, sisters Blueberry and Chickpea decided they wanted to stay together. Both girls grew to be big babies and are 7-8 lbs. They love tunnels, boxes, and snuggle time together. Blueberry is the the most confident of the bunch. Chickpea is a sweet mellow girl.

Introducing two rabbits can be be a difficult process. We recommend that adopters interested in having two rabbits adopt a pair that is already bonded.

Chickpea and Blueberry reside in a foster home and attend monthly adoption events. Come meet these girls and other adoptable rabbits at the next second Saturday adoption event.
If you need more information about rabbits before the next event or would like to attend an adoption event, see the information below:

We do not have a shelter to introduce our foster rabbits and our volunteers have limited time to respond to all online inquiries, so the best way to meet one of our rabbits is to attend our next adoption day. Sometimes people bond to a different rabbit in person than the one they choose online.
**If you send an inquiry, be sure to include information about your interest in a rabbit, experience level, current household (family and other pets), and planned space for a new rabbit. The more information you provide will help get a faster response.

All rabbits are spayed/neutered (age permitting) and litter box trained. All rabbits are to be adopted to indoor homes only.

Current bunny parents are encouraged to bring their rabbits to adoption clinics if they are interested in adopting a companion rabbit. Your rabbit must be spayed or neutered to be eligible to meet one of our fosters. SHRS volunteers will be happy to help your bunny through that feisty first date.
