Charlotte's Story

High Maintenance Bunny- Found dumped in an empty parking lot, Charlotte has been with us since November 2022. Spit and Vinegar has been used to explain her personality and it couldn't be any more true. Once you get a hold of her she loves to be held, petted and groomed. Sitting completely still while groomed, nails clipped etc. Being a double maned Lionhead she will require frequent, most likely daily brushings. Scheduled shavings are also recommended. She is mostly litter trained, but due to the other rabbits housed in the garage with her, she tends to mark her area. Charlotte will need to be free roam for the most part and x-penned during unsupervised times. The top of her area needs to be enclosed as she loves to do parkour inside her x-pen. She loves doing tricks for her treats! Charlotte will most likely benefit from someone at least somewhat experienced as she will require lots of patience and help with litter training. Gauntt Farm Antics Rabbit Rescue, Inc.'s Adoption Policy

Our process for adopting a rabbit starts with you completing an application. You must be at least 21 years of age to complete an application. Our adoption fee, charged at the time of adoption. Adoption fees help offset our medical and boarding fees. All of our bunnies are fully vetted, vaccinated and are treated for any incoming medical conditions. All adult bunnies are also spayed or neutered. Our adoption application asks questions regarding your history with bunnies, your lifestyle, and what you are looking for in a bunny. Please fill out the application as completely and honestly as possible so that we may match the most suitable rabbit for your family situation. Once your application have been received, it will be reviewed, and references will be contacted. You will be called for a phone interview and a home visit by one of our volunteers. Our volunteers spend many hours on each application. If for any reason you decide not to continue the application process, please let us know as soon as possible. The volunteer will be looking for information on where the bunny will spend the day and evening, and whether you have adequate space as well as an understanding of the needs of a free roam bunny. After your home check, one of our volunteers will work with you to match your family to the perfect bunny. We are located in the Atlanta area and most of our rabbits are located in this area. As much as possible our bunnies are housed with volunteer foster families which help us learn the personality of the bunnies and aids in the matching process. We do accept out of state applications. Our out of state adoptees normally come to Atlanta to pick up their bunny. We do not provide transportation. Adopting a bunny is a decision that should not be taken lightly. Your bunny will be a part of your family for a long time, and can provide you with years of enjoyment and wonderful memories, but please remember owning a rabbit is a major commitment and is not inexpensive. Although once you own a bunny, you will find the experience priceless.
