Butternut's Story
Meet Butternut!! (case #21101)

If you're a fan of fabulous ears, big personalities, and a bunny who knows his way around the snack bar, you're going to love Butternut!

This handsome medium-sized boy is practically a spitting image of Boomer, right down to those spectacular ears that seem to go on forever. Butternut's ears may be hard to miss, but it's his sweet personality that will really steal your heart.

Butternut is a calm, affectionate fellow who absolutely loves his pets. Once he knows you're a friend, he'll happily enjoy some gentle attention and soak up the affection. And when it comes to food? Well... Butternut takes his meals very seriously! The quickest way to get on his good side might just be through his stomach.

He's a wonderful example of why rabbits make such special companions. They're quiet, curious, intelligent animals with individual personalities and plenty of affection to give. Butternut would love a home where his humans understand that earning a bunny's trust is a process and that the rewards are well worth it.

Butternut is looking for an indoor forever home where he can feel safe, comfortable, and part of the family. Rabbits need plenty of room to hop, stretch, explore, and exercise, along with a safe, bunny-proofed environment.

His diet should be based primarily on unlimited grass hay, supplemented with fresh rabbit-safe leafy greens and an appropriate amount of quality rabbit pellets. Fresh water should always be available, and rabbit-safe chew toys help keep both his mind and continuously growing teeth occupied.

Rabbits also benefit from daily interaction and enrichment. They can be incredibly entertaining, affectionate companions once they feel comfortable, but they aren't "low-maintenance" pets. They need appropriate veterinary care, regular health checks, grooming when necessary, and a family prepared for a long-term commitment. With good care, rabbits can live 8 to 12 years or longer.

Most of all, Butternut needs people who will appreciate him for who he is: a sweet, food-loving, long-eared gentleman who enjoys a good cuddle and isn't afraid to let you know when he's ready for his next snack.

Butternut has a charm all his own. He's got the ears, he's got the appetite, and he's got a serious appreciation for a good head rub. Now all he needs is his person. Could you be the one to give Butternut the loving, safe, forever home he's been waiting for?

Come meet this spectacular-eared sweetheart. Butternut is ready to hop into your heart preferably with a snack in tow. Visit him at our adoption partner, PetSmart. The address is 1779 Stone Church Road East, Stoney Creek.

Adopters must provide their own enclosure and accessories.

*Please note: we only adopt within Ontario
