Bunana's Story

Meet Bunana! Bunana is a sweet, social, healthy, and not to mention gorgeous 7 year old rabbit. Her foster family adores her and compliments how she’s such an ideal bun! Perfect with her litterbox, buzzing happily all the time!

Bunana was surrendered to us earlier this year. She received a blood workup to make sure she was healthy and a full bunny vet exam with one of our local bunny-savvy veterinarians. She is in great health and is very active with no signs of health issues.

Bunana may be open to a buddy. Our rescue would be happy to assist with bunny "speed dating" if you are interested. Bonded bunnies can share the same space, same litterbox, eat together, and even share the same carrier for vet visits! Having a bunny buddy often helps with longevity and boredom for both bunnies as well.

Rabbits can live 10-12 years with good care and an indoor, safe living space! Rabbits need daily Timothy hay, nutritious pellets, greens/veggies, and a bowl of fresh water. Free-roaming or exercise pens work best! We do not recommend cages or hutches or outdoor housing.

Our adoption process:

(1) We ask that you look through our educational slides and writeup (under 10 minutes) using the big buttons on the middle of the page here: www.huntsvillehouserabbits.com

(2) Fill out an adoption application here: www.huntsvillehouserabbits.com/adopt(No obligation to adopt from filling one out.)

(3) You will be contacted and we’ll set up a meeting for you to meet the bunny!
We advise having a safe indoor space available and an emergency fund set aside for an unexpected vet visit for any pet. ?

We also strongly encourage attending our Bunny Basics event (every month on the third Saturday at Southpaw Animal Clinic in Madison, 1-2:30pm) to learn more about bunny care. We respectfully especially recommend this if you are new to rabbits or it has been many years, have small children or multiple pets, or have any history with 4H or breeders (as their instruction is often extremely lacking / incorrect).

Please reach out if you have any questions! Message us on our Facebook rescue page or e-mail us at HuntsvilleHouseRabbits@gmail.com

Note: Our rescue does not do on-the-spot adoptions; instead we schedule a meetup for you to meet the bunny you are interested in first and make sure you are comfortable with everything required for their care. We must have a form from you first. We find that this helps tremendously in helping adopters find the rabbit that is right for them. Please note that we require rabbits to have an indoor space. Please feel free to ask us questions!
