Astro's Story

Astro is looking for his forever home!!

Astro came from the Sevier County hoarding case of 37 bunnies. He was in the medical ward because he had blood all over him from bite wounds on his face and body.

Astro is a laidback guy who enjoys the simple things! He can be shy at first, but within a few hours, he's binkying and acting like he's been there forever!

Astro gets along with cats, dogs, and most kids! Some kids at adoption events want to grab at him and his long hair and obviously he does not appreciate that...

Astro is an angora so he NEEDS daily brushing, regular maintenance, and full shaves every 3 months. When he came to us, he was so skinny because he couldn't eat or move due to matted fur that caused pain just to move from standing to laying down. He has since been shaved and we will update pictures soon! Daily coat maintenance is not negotiable.

Astro is about 2 years old. Operation Bun Bun Rescue's Adoption Policy
The first step is the adoption application. A vet is always called and referenced. Then we reach out to the potential adopter and let them know if we had any issues with the vet reference. If resolved, we do a home check. This can be a quick check to make sure they have adequate litter boxes and space for cats, or making sure our bunnies and small animals have a suitable setup and won't be confined to a cage. This can be done virtually for out of state adoptions. There is always a meet and greet and then a contract must be signed and the adoption fee must be paid before the pet is transferred to the care of the adopter.
