Wharton County Stray Pet Outreach Team

S.P.O.T. was established by Wharton County citizens who had concerns about the alarming number of homeless pets throughout our communities.  Our Mission is to educate the general public about responsible and compassionate pet care and ownership and to ensure awareness of the plight of homeless and unwanted pets; And when facilities become available to S.P.O.T., to provide humane care and treatment for all animals needing protection in the area and to seek suitable homes for the animals without owners.  We are not a shelter but work through a network of volunteer foster homes to provide for homeless pets in such a way as to nurture and rehabilitate if needed so that the fostered pets can move on to a permanent home
