Our Mission
It is the mission of Wilbarger Humane Society to emphasize the importance of spaying and neutering of pets to prevent unwanted animals; to protect animals from abuse, neglect, exploitation and overpopulation; to give the homeless pets a safe haven until they are adopted into good, caring homes; to support legislation that broadens the animal cruelty laws and increases the penalty to violators and to educate the public on being responsible pet owners.
Adoption Policy
Animals in our care are not ready to go home on the same day. All adoptions require an application and will be spay/neutered and up to date on their vaccines for the first year. Dogs are heartworm tested and cats are leukemia tested before going home. Dog adoptions are $85 and cat adoptions are $60. Adopters must be at least 18 years old.
Cat adoptions include spay/neuter, feline leukemia test, two HCPCH and feline leukemia vaccines (three if they are young), worming, microchip, rabies shot, and their first flea and tick treatment.
Dog adoptions include spay/neuter, heartworm test, two DHLP/PC+L4 and bordetella vaccines (three if they are young), worming, microchip, rabies shot, their first flea and tick treatment, and their first heartworm prevention. All animals also get a goodie bag to send home.
