Our Mission

At Saving Pups of Texas (SPOT), our mission is simple yet impactful: We rescue dogs from the streets of Houston and surrounding areas, focusing on those who are hurt, sick, neglected, abandoned, or abused. Houston faces one of the highest stray and pet overpopulation rates in the country, and countless animals are at risk every single day. Our goal is to help them heal and recover, so we can find them loving, forever homes.

Adoption Policy

Our adoption process includes: - Phone interview with an adoption coordinator - Reference and veterinary checks - Direct communication with the animal's foster caregiver - Signed adoption contract - Adoption fee Before an adoption is finalized, adopters meet their pet through a personalized video call so everyone can connect and ask questions before adoption. Dogs already placed in foster homes may be available for in-person meet-and-greets. Adoption fees cover: - All medical care listed above - A high-quality nylon Martingale collar - Years of love and companionship, priceless Your adoption fee is a donation to our mission, reflecting the extensive medical care, training, and resources invested in every life we save. TRANSPORTING? A Transport Fee of $250 ($350 for larger dogs) applies for those pets traveling to their new home. We hire USDA-certified transport teams to safely bring our animals to their new homes, with drop-off locations in Colorado, Virginia, New York, Massachusetts, Washington, Illinois, Arizona, Oregon, and Michigan. Adopters can follow their pet's journey with photo updates, making the process transparent and reassuring from beginning to end.
