Sunshine Acres Animal Sanctuary, Inc.

Since inception, Sunshine Acres Animal Sanctuary, Inc. has been a safe haven for unwanted pets and livestock. SAAS, is a 501(c)3 registered non-profit organization, dedicated to the compassionate care of every single animal that comes into our sanctuary. Our mission is to provide a safe haven for abused, abandoned, neglected and once-loved animals of all species and types. The goal at our sanctuary is to provide compassionate care for the length of the animals stay, no matter what that entails. It may come in the form of medical treatment, nutrition, support, or palliative care. Right now Texas is number two in the US for euthanasia of dogs and cats, with Pitbulls and Chihuahuas still being at the top of this list, and we know as a community, we can do better by helping to control the pet population, and by spaying or neutering our pets and livestock. Educating the community about the importance about prevention and controlling the pet over population in Texas is just a fraction of what’s needed to help our homeless pet problem but it is a step in the right direction. As welfare rescue organization, we urge the community to band together with us, on our mission, to help spread the word about the importance of spaying and neutering your pet, whether it be a dog, cat or even a pot belly pig. In the coming months, it is our goal to provide veterinary care for as many animals as is financially within our means. As well as stressing the importance of spaying and neutering your pets or livestock. We won’t stop until the euthanasia count of dogs and cats is lowered in Texas, and we get some of the misunderstood breeds off the code red list, such as Pit Bulls and Chihuahuas. All contributions to SAAS are completely tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
