Our Mission
At Dogtown Ranch Sanctuary, Rescue & Rehab, we believe every dog deserves a chance to live a good life.
We are a no-kill nonprofit haven which offers the last chance for abused, discarded, labeled aggressive, damaged dogs & rehabilitate them offering safety, and healing.
Through positive training and behavior-focused care, we help each dog become their best self. Some find forever homes—others stay with us as cherished residents. Beyond rescue, we’re passionate about education: teaching communities about responsible pet ownership, compassion, and the power of patience. Every tail wag reminds us why we do what we do.
Adoption Policy
When A Dog Is Adoptable -- Adoption Policy:
We try to ensure the best possible match between animal and adopter. Our dogs are special to us and we like to make sure their new forever home is a happy one for both of you! Remember that this is a lifetime commitment. You will be asked to fill in an adoption application and to sign a legal contract when adopting one of our dogs, and you must pay an adoption fee. This fee includes spaying or neutering. The fees go directly to Dogtown Ranch to help pay for upkeep and medical care.
Keep in mind the following points:
· The adopter must be within driving distance of Rockdale, Texas. We do not ship dogs.
· Dogs must be housed indoors. An onsite home visit is required, as well as vet references.
· Dogs live an average of 10 - 12 years. We are looking for those special adopters who will make every effort possible to keep their companion for the entire life of the dog despite life style changes (divorce, moving, etc.)
