Our Mission
Houston Animals Project is a nonprofit rescue committed to saving animals from the streets of Houston and securing loving, safe, and permanent homes through kindness, education, and prevention.
Adoption Policy
Our goal is to place every dog in a safe, loving, and lifelong home. Because of this, all adopters must complete an application and go through an approval process before adoption is finalized. Adoption requirements include: Valid government issued ID required, all current pets must be up-to-date on vaccines and on heart worm prevention, if renting your landlord must approve before we move forward with the adoption process, all household family members must be in agreement on the adoption. We ask for potential adopters to provide a personal and vet reference, a video of their backyard/area where the dog will be living, and do a meet and greet with any dogs that are currently in the home if they are local. We have a strict return policy, if at any point the adopter can no longer keep the dog, the dog must returned to Houston Animals Project and may not be re homed, sold, or surrendered to another person, rescue, or shelter without approval.
