Our Mission
The Hampton County Animal Shelter's mission is to rescue abused and neglected animals while rehabilitation them in order to promote adoption into safe, forever homes. Additionally, the Hampton County Animal Shelter will educate the community in the prevention of diseases and the importance of spaying and neutering pets in order to reduce overpopulation.
Adoption Policy
Potential adopters must schedule an appointment to meet with our animals. After they find a pet they believe would be a good fit, they must fill out our adoption application. Once application is approved we encourage/require (if animal is unaltered) the adopter to take animal home on a 10-day foster trial. Once they have spent significant time with the animal and know they are the right fit, we will finalize the adoption by receiving the adoption fee and/or spaying/neutering the animal.
