The Jayne H Boswell Animal Shelter is a collaborative effort between the City of Florence and the Florence Area Humane Society. Together, we operate the facility located at 1434 Mccurdy Road, Florence, SC 29506.  Phone Number: 843-669-2921 Fax: 843-629-5457 We have an ample selection of dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens. All of our animals are vaccinated, wormed, and when age appropriate, tested for heartworms.  South Carolina Law requires that all animals adopted from an animal shelter must be spayed or neutered to help control pet overpopulation. Many of our animals are already altered, or arrangements will be made to use the vet of your choice or the low-cost clinic in Florence, SNIP.  Volunteer Orientation is held the 2nd Saturday of each month at 10:30 at our shelter. We welcome families of all ages; however, we do require volunteers to be 16 years of age or older to be in our facility without a parent/guardian.  We depend heavily on our volunteers for: Socializing Fostering Walking Dogs Giving Dogs Baths Helping with basic housekeeping Helping the general public as an Adoption Host Helping with off-site adoption events Cleaning Our Adoptable Cat Cages At Petsmart Much Much More...
