To encourage and promote the responsible neutering of cats, and to provide assistance to low-income people who are unable to pay to do so.

To educate the public about responsible pet ownership.

To work with governmental agencies and other nonprofit organizations involved with handling unwanted kittens and adult cats, including feral cats.

To provide a safe, healthful sanctuary for kittens and adult in transition to more permanent homes; and

To seek alternatives to euthanasia for unwanted kittens and adult cats for which homes are not available.

Adoption Policy

Potential adopters must complete an application which includes agreeing to following stipulations.
1) Return the kitty to PURR should the cat not be a good fit for the household or if they can no longer care for the kitty.
2) Cat will be kept indoors unless there is a catio available to keep the cat secure. No outdoor, free-roaming cats.
3) Absolutely no declawing of the cat. We provide instruction on training and dealing with cats scratching inappropriately.
4) We have a two week return policy for full refund of adoption fee if it just doesn't work out.

Potential adopters must meet with the adoption counselor and be seen interacting with the potential adopter. Additionally, anyone who rents must provide the landlord's contact information so that approval can be obtained before cat can be adopted.
