Our Mission
We are thrilled to announce that we have a page on Petfinder! After over ten years helping local pets, we are happy to have a new way to find homes for the dogs we are assisting. Â
Mission Statement:
Pound Hounds & Friend, Inc. strives to provide comfort and care to and reduce the number of homeless companion animals in Western New York by purchasing pet supplies, paying for veterinary services, supporting foster programs, and supporting spay/neuter programs.Â
Background:Â
A grass-roots organization initially founded in 2003 to assist the animal shelter in the city of Buffalo. PH&F has since branched out to support various local rescues/shelters, foster programs and needy cats and dog in and around Western New York. We are a small all-Volunteer group. We also helped found Fix A Bull WNY, a spay/neuter program for Pit Bulls/Pit Bull type dogs. We are very active with that program and

We are a 100% volunteer based organization, so you will have to visit us virtually or at events we attend throughout the year. Â All of the cats and dogs we help are living in foster homes. Â Therefore, we do not have a physical shelter you can actually visit. Â However, when you are interested in adopting, the foster will arrange a meeting at your home.Â
