The mission of Fur Babies Rescue is to assist with the rescue and placement of abandoned or injured domestic or wild animals.
Our goal is to spay and neuter as many dogs and cats as possible through your generous donations. Our area is over populated with unwanted cats and dogs and we strive to end this overpopulation by eventually offering the largest free or very low cost spay/neuter options.
(currently we are only working with cats and dogs but our formal mission statement for the state of NC includes other animals as we intend to grow and expand)
Application and interview process.
Application is on our website and this is the first step if you have an interest in adopting:
Meet some of our pets:
Brews & Mews Cat Cafe downtown Lenoir, NC
Pet Supermarket Hickory, NC
Foster Homes by appointment
Granite Falls site by appointment
We want to save all animals but lack of volunteers and mainly lack of donations holds us back. Please don't be part of the problem! Don't bring us your unwanted, pregnant or injured animal. Spay & neuter your pets and be a responsible pet owner. You know where the Veterinarians are located so please use them.
We pull animals from Catawba County and Caldwell County Animal Services. We no longer take pets from individuals for the safety of our volunteers. Animals that go through the county animal services see a Veterinarian before our volunteers handle them and this keep everyone safe and healthy.
Want to adopt?
Fill out the application on our website. This is very important. We will need to see your drivers license at pick up to make sure your drivers license address matches the home you live in and the address on your application. If not, you may want to visit your local drivers license office before you get a ticket and for sure before you come to pick up your new family member.
***Renters Please contact your property manager for pet approval before filling out our application. If you provide the phone and email address of your property manager it will make the process faster for approval. If you are not on the deed to the home you live in we consider you a renter even if you don't pay anyone rent. We check ownership and confirm with property owners or managers before approving any application.
***Again, just to be clear, if you ARE NOT on the deed to the home you live in you are considered a renter and must have approval to have a pet.
