Our Mission

Missoula Animal Services is dedicated to the health and well-being of our community, both human and animal. We promote responsible pet ownership though education and enforcement and are concerned with the safety of the public and welfare of all domestic animals in the City and County of Missoula. The department is responsible for the sheltering of abandoned, stray and impounded animals. A team of animal control officers enforce City and County ordinances relating to the keeping, restraint and humane treatment of animals and they provide education to the public concerning proper animal care and responsible animal ownership. In addition, we are proud to offer an adoption program and facilitate the responsible placement of adopted animals to new homes.
