Our Mission

The mission of the Joplin Humane Society is to promote the humane care and protection of all animals, especially those abandoned, neglected and abused; and to prevent cruelty and suffering of all animals.

Adoption Policy

Adoption Process Everything You Need To Know To Find Your New Best Friend JHS strives to match people with animals that fit their lifestyles. We take our mission to care for these animals very seriously, and that includes taking the time to find loving and responsible homes. We offer a wide selection of cats, dogs, puppies & kittens. If you don't see the pet you're looking for, we encourage you to continue to check regularly with all animal shelters and rescues. Due to the number of animals that we receive and find homes for every day, we can not guarantee that specific animals listed on our site will be available when you visit. We are also unable to hold animals via phone, fax, or email. The best way to find a new furry companion is by visiting us in person.
