Adoption Policy
Please read our Policies before applying:
All questions must be answered thoroughly and honestly. This application is in no way binding and does not represent an agreement to adopt or to provide adoption. Must be 21+ to apply.
If you do not own your home, please send a full copy of your lease, including the pet policy, to halfmooncatrescue@gmail.com.
Kittens do best when they have a friend! Kittens under six months must be adopted as a pair or into a home that already has at least one cat or kitten.
Adopted cats and kittens must not be declawed.
If for any reason, at any time, you find you can no longer care for your adopted cat or kitten, please contact us so that the cat or kitten can be returned to us and rehomed.
Next steps:
Once your application is approved, meet & greets can be arranged at our foster locations in East New Market MD or Pasadena MD. If you have other pets, we may conduct an in-home meet & greet to ensure all pets are compatible.
Our adoption fee is $150, payable on adoption day. We accept cash, check, Cash App, and Venmo.
Unless otherwise noted, cats/kittens will have the following medical care prior to adoption:
-Spay/neuter
-Rabies vaccine (kittens 12 weeks or older)
-First distemper vaccine (depending on age at adoption, may also have subsequent two boosters)
-FeLV/FIV testing
-Deworming and flea/tick prevention
-Microchip
