Our Mission
Our mission is to rescue, medically treat, and find loving forever homes for vulnerable animals both nationwide and internationally. While we are currently a new nonprofit growing our funds, our ultimate long term vision is to build, fix, and upgrade animal shelters in impoverished areas worldwide to ensure animals are housed in a truly humane way. We strive to fund vital medical treatments and replace crowded cages with safe, clean, individual rooms for each animal, empowering local volunteers to rescue more lives and provide peaceful rehabilitation while these animals wait for their forever homes.
Adoption Policy
We are committed to matching each of our rescued pets with the perfect forever home
-All potential adopters must submit an adoption application for review. We check veterinary and personal references to ensure a safe environment.
- We require a home check as part of the approval process. This is conducted either through an in-person home visit or a virtual video call, depending on the adopter's location.
- All pets must be spayed or neutered before adoption is finalized. Young puppies, kittens, or animals waiting for medical clearance will remain in a foster to adopt status under our legal care until their surgery is successfully completed by our veterinary partners.
- Every pet adopted from Zuzu Rescue is protected for life. If under any circumstances an adopter is no longer able to keep their pet or needs to rehome them, the animal must be returned directly to us, and the pet may never be rehomed to someone else without our prior written approval.
