Pamuk's Story

Meet Pamuk A Turkish Angora Sweetheart Looking for His Forever Home

Pamuk is a 1.5 year old Turkish Angora whose name means “cotton” in Turkish, a fitting name for this beautiful, fluffy white boy with his soft coat and lovely green eyes. His story began on the streets of Türkiye, where kindhearted rescuers found him with a fracture in his left front leg.
Pamuk was immediately taken to a veterinary clinic, where a specialist carefully evaluated his injury and placed a pin to stabilize the fractured area. He recovered beautifully, and the pin was later removed. Today, this brave boy can run, play, and enjoy life on all four paws!

Pamuk is also deaf, which means he needs a family who understands how to communicate with him gently and help him feel safe. Because he cannot hear someone approaching, sudden movements or being touched unexpectedly may startle him. He does best when you let him see you before approaching or reaching out to pet him. With patience, understanding, and a calm environment, Pamuk can feel secure and build a wonderful bond with his people.
A gentle soul who loves the simple things

Pamuk is an affectionate, easygoing boy who enjoys eating, napping, relaxing, and cuddling with his favorite person. He loves his toys and scratching board, too! He isn't constantly looking for a feline playmate and is perfectly happy enjoying his own space. What he truly wants is a safe home, a predictable routine, and someone who will cherish him.

What kind of home is best for Pamuk?

We are looking for an experienced, gentle, and responsible family who will appreciate Pamuk for the special boy he is.
An exclusively indoor home where he will be safe and protected.
A calm environment without frequent startling or rough handling.
A family willing to approach him where he can see them and learn his preferred ways of communicating.
He may do well as the only cat or with one calm, compatible feline companion. If you are interested in adopting another cat, we can introduce you to one of Pamuk's friends from his recovery in Türkiye, who is already familiar to him.

A family committed to routine annual veterinary checkups, prompt veterinary care whenever concerns arise, and emergency veterinary treatment when needed.
Pamuk is up to date on his vaccinations and has tested negative for FIV and FeLV

Could you be the person Pamuk has been waiting for?

Pamuk has already overcome a painful injury and worked hard to recover. Now, he deserves a different kind of life: a loving home where he will never have to fend for himself again.
He may not hear your voice when you call his name, but he can still learn your routines, recognize your presence, and look forward to the comfort of being near his favorite person. We hope to find a family who sees beyond his deafness and understands that he has so much love to give.
Pamuk is waiting in Türkiye for his forever family. Once his adoption is secured and travel arrangements are completed, he will come to Maryland to meet the family who has chosen him.

If you have a calm home, a gentle heart, and room in your life for this beautiful boy, please apply to adopt Pamuk through Petfinder

His next chapter should be filled with safety, comfort, and love.

Adoption Fee & Sponsorship

Due to international permits and travel expenses, Pamuk’s adoption fee is $350, which will cover only a portion of his international travel costs.

Want to help Pamuk fly to his forever home?

International pet travel is a significant financial undertaking. If you’re unable to adopt but would like to help Pamuk begin his new journey sooner, please click the “Become a Sponsor” button on this page. Your donation will go directly to Zuzu Rescue to help cover his international travel expenses and bring him one step closer to his forever family.
