Our Mission
Illinois Humane provides a comprehensive approach to improving animal welfare in Illinois. In addition to our adoption and humane investigation services, we are committed to addressing the issues that contribute to homeless animal situations by educating the community and working to strengthen the laws protecting animals.Â
Adoption Policy
Adopting a cat or dog from ILLINOIS HUMANE is a relatively easy task. You can visit our animals on-line at Petfinder and then contact us if you'd like to meet one of them in person. Â You can also visit with some of our animals during our offsite adoptions.
We have a great volunteer staff to assist you in choosing the right pet for you, your family, your housing situation and your other animals. We do require an application to be completed for your adoption. ILLINOIS HUMANE also conducts a house check before approving each adoption.
Our adoption fees are $150.00 for a dog and $50.00 for a cat. Â ILLINOIS HUMANE also ensures that each animal adopted is spay/neutered, microchipped and current on vaccinations.
