Humane Society of Southern Illinois
Our Mission
The Humane Society of Southern Illinois has been around for almost 50 years. We are mainly funded through donations and every little bit helps.
Our facility takes in approximately 5,000 animals yearly and we do the best we can to find homes for them.
In December, 2005 the Humane Society of Southern Illinois began an exciting new program to save pets from euthanasia.
We began working with an independent rescue coordinator to place adoptable animals in high quality "no kill" programs in the northern part of the state that would otherwise be euthanized.
As always, this would never have been possible without the kind and generous donations of our members and supporters. Please donate to help sustain this vital Life Saving program!
Adoption Policy
CAT ADOPTION FEE is $125.00 ($100.00 if I have special needs). This adoption fee INCLUDES my feline distemper vaccination, microchip, and de-worming. All cats are also current on flea prevention and have been tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV.
DOG ADOPTION FEE is $225.00 ($200.00 if I have special needs). This adoption fee INCLUDES distemper/parvo vaccination, bordetella vaccination, microchip, de-worming, and heartworm testing (if over the age of 6 months). I am also current on heartworm and flea prevention.
All animals must be spayed/neutered and rabies vaccinated before they can go home. If these procedures are not already done at the time of adoption, an appointment must be made and the cost of these procedures CAN be included in the cost of adoption under most circumstances which will be discussed at the time of adoption.
