Deep South Canine Rescue
Our Mission
We at Deep South Canine Rescue, are an all volunteer based, 501c3 licensed non profit organization. We are all devoted animal lovers saving the homeless, abandoned or forgotten dogs in deep southern Georgia. We are committed to providing all of our rescued dogs with proper veterinary care, allowing them to be well socialized with other dogs, kids and sometimes cats and safely adopting them out to loving families.
We are a foster based rescue. Our mission is to strengthen the bond between humans and canines.
Adoption Policy
Anyone interested in adopting one of our dogs must first fill out an application. Once submitted we review it and if we think the applicant a safe and potential home for a given dog we plan a home visit. We go over a safety precaution and home form to make sure the home can safely accommodate the dog up for adoption. If the home visit is approved we plan a meet and greet. If the meet and greet goes well and we approve the adopter we begin a 2 week trial adoption to allow the dog and the family a chance to see if they are the right fit. All of our dogs are microchipped prior to leaving our care. After the 2 week trial period we can make the adoption official. We are always available via phone, email or social media to our adopters. We stay in touch and should they ever need anything from us for the dog we will always be there to offer support.
