Florida Persian and Exotic Cat Rescue
Our Mission
Our main focus is to help Persian and exotic cat breeds, mostly brachycephalic, that have been discarded, used for, or are a result of, backyard breeding or iin need ot medical care. We strive to educate on the grooming and medical needs of these special breeds and the dangers of backyard breeding. We also have a soft spot for senior cats in need, regardless of breed.
In addition to advocating for and educating on the needs of exotic cat breeds, we are fiercely motivated to assist the community to safely keep their pets, during this challenging financial time. By founding, and continuing to maintain, a community pet pantry, as well as spreading awareness of the need to microchip all pets, we hope to keep more pet families together.
Adoption Policy
1. Complete the application, in full, and submit.
2. Conduct a brief phone interview.
3. Home ownership or landlord approval will be verified and both personal and veterinary references contacted.
4. If adopting out of state, a zoom call to do a home check is completed. If adopting within Florida, the home visit will be done in person
Please note, we are a small, all volunteer rescue. While we strive to process applications as quickly as possible, it can take up to 1-2 weeks to get through the entire process. We ask that you understand that we all have full-time jobs in addition to our dedication to the rescue; and emergencies always arise.
