We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to Thoroughbred aftercare - safe retirement from racing, retraining and re-homing - for horses training and racing at Tampa Bay Downs during the live racing meet.

Adoption Policy
All potential adopters must submit an adoption application and are screened. All horses are adopted with a adoption contract (called Horse Adoption Agreement and Conditional Bill of Sale). It includes a 60-day trial period, a one year probationary period and a two year Right of First Refusal. It is a conditional lifetime bill of sale and all requirements and restrictions contained in the contract, including but not limited to TROT to regain ownership, care, custody and control of the Adopted Horse, shall remain in effect regardless of change or purported changes in ownership or possession of the Adopted Horse at a later date.

All adopters are required to provide written status reports with pictures in the third, sixth and twelve month. Out of state adopters will have more frequent reporting requirements. We also may perform random site visits. The Adopted Horse must never be raced or sold at auction or sent to slaughter. We need to ensure that each horse is thriving as we owe it to the
