As a Connecticut based 501c3, One More Dog Rescue (formerly Ruff Start Happy Tails, founded in 2012) is dedicated to the rescue and placement of homeless animals, many of whom are rescued at the very last moment from euthanasia at shelters. We provide a safe haven to all those who find their way to us through a variety of circumstances.
One More Dog Rescue does not have a shelter and relies solely on a network of foster homes and volunteers. We receive no public funding.
Adoption Policy
One More Dog Rescue (OMD), formerly Ruff Start Happy Tails, requires all potential adopters to fill out an adoption application and agree to a home visit prior to any adoption. Once the application is approved, a meet and greet will be scheduled between the potential adopter (s) and the dog. If the dog is adopted through One More Dog, an adoption contract must be signed, and we ask that a donation in the amount of $500.00 for puppies and adult dogs and $350.00 for senior dogs be made at the time of adoption to help our rescue cover a portion of the costs we incur through pull fees, vetting, and training.
