Simon's Story
Name: Simon
Breed: Pitbull Mix
Age: 2.5 years
Weight: 51 lbs.

Before OMD: We were contacted by one of our vet partners after Simon was dropped off there and diagnosed with parvo. We quickly transferred him to an emergency hospital, where he stayed until he was well enough to move into a foster home. Since then, hes overcome even more, including undergoing double TPLO surgery in spring 2026. Hes all healthy now but is on high quality Kibble to keep his skin healthy.

Key descriptors: Smart. Comical. Goofy. SO Sweet. Affectionate. Smooshable.
Energy level: Higher end of medium. He enjoys walks, playtime, and adventures, but also appreciates a good nap.
Pittie smotherness level: Very well-balanced. Hes a great cuddler but doesnt need to be glued to your side 24/7. IYKYK.
What makes us laugh: His ability to go from fully awake to sound asleep (and back again) in seconds. He also loves sitting in the window like a cat, watching the world go by.
What we love: Simons incredibly sweet nature. He has a way of making everyone fall in love with himincluding the staff at his veterinary appointments.
What he loves: Toys. Antlers. Car rides. Walks. Treats. People. And claiming random household items as his own.
Stranger danger? Not a bit. Simon loves meeting new people and is getting pretty good at keeping all four paws on the floor while saying hello.
What he knows: Sit. Paw.
What hes working on: Leash manners, especially when he sees other dogs. Hes also learning to keep his mouth to himself when he gets really excited and playful. Simon loves to learn and would likely thrive with continued training.
Dogs: Dog-selective. Simon does not do well with some larger male dogs but has done well with tolerant, submissive dogs his size or smaller.
Cats: Unknown.
Kids: 8+ please!
House-trained: Yes!
Crate-trained: Also yes!
If he could pick out his ideal family: A family with lots of love, time for adventures, and plenty of opportunities for cuddles. A fenced yard would be a bonus, but his biggest requirement is people who will adore him as much as everyone who meets him already does.

Simon is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He is available for adoption to residents of IL, CT, and surrounding states. If you're interested in adopting, please complete an application through our website.
