Our Mission
At Desert Dog Project, our goal is to provide funds for dogs in medical need, ensuring that every dog, especially those who face medical challenges in the shelter world, has a fair shot at a happy and fulfilling life. No dog should be denied this opportunity due to the financial burden of medical costs, which unfortunately is a problem we see far too often in the rescue world. We are on a dedicated mission to raise funds for the most vulnerable and overlooked dogs in the system.
Adoption Policy
Our adoption policies are designed to ensure each dog is placed in a safe, stable, and appropriate home. Potential adopters are required to complete an adoption application, followed by a phone screening to discuss lifestyle, expectations, and the dog’s needs. Once approved, adopters with existing pets participate in a meet-and-greet to ensure compatibility. A home visit is then conducted to confirm the environment is safe and suitable and that the placement will be a good long-term fit for both the dog and the adopter.
