    Our Mission

The Humane Society of the Delta (HSD) is a 501c3 non-profit organization formed in March of 2008 as a result of the compassion of local concerned citizens, who recognized the immediate need to advocate for the humane treatment of animals.   Our mission is to promote humane treatment of animals, finding good homes for unwanted, displaced or abandoned dogs and cats, and educating the public about how to be a responsible pet owner which includes spaying and neutering to help control the animal population.     We work to accomplish our mission by sponsoring spay-neuter clinics, conducting transports, attending community events, and collaborating with local officials.

    Adoption Policy

It’s a Reality!   Currently HSD has a small adoption center where we focus on taking in animals and prep them to go into foster homes when available, until adopted. HSD is the only form of animal control in our town.  We currently accomplish our goals by applying for grants to provide free or low cost spay and neuter clinics, provide foster homes and eventual adoption.  However, we are limited on the number of puppies we can take in at one time due to our limited funds, limited volunteers and limited equipment. For more information about our organization, visit our web site at www.humanesocietyofthedelta.org
