Our Mission
Los Cabos Humane Society is a nonprofit organization committed to a safer, compassionate and more prosperous Los Cabos for all. Our mission is to end animal over population through education, adoption and sterilization. We also work with government agencies to enact laws that promote the humane treatment of all animals. Our animal care center is equipped to house 78 cats and 70 dogs. We are always at maximum capacity with a waiting list. The newly elected Board and management team are committed to maintaining our policy of "no kill" and to make a real difference with sterilization, education and outreach programs in the region of Los Cabos.
Adoption Policy
Adoption process:
1. Come to the shelter to meet our pets to find the one that best suits the needs of you and your family.
2. Sign an adoption contract, show photos of your home where the pet will live, whether inside the house or outside the home.
3. Provide proof of address and official identification.
4. Requirements to ensure the welfare of the animal
- There has to be enough room for the pet to be comfortable
- The space has to be clean, safe and completely enclosed, but with sufficient ventilation.
- There needs to be enough shade throughout the whole day if the pet is to live outside.
5. The adoption fee is $ 500.00 pesos.
6. Optionally, we like to take a picture with the pet and the new owner for social networks.
7. The new owner must agree and be available to arrange a home visit to follow up on the adoption.
