Adoption Policy

When looking to adopt a new furbaby at the Valley SPCA, you first need to fill out an application. This can be done on our website https://www.valleyspcalavallee.com/ or via paper application that you can pick up at the shelter. Each application requires three (3) references (NOT FAMILY), the name of the veterinarian to which you take any current pets if applicable, and if you are renting, the contact information of your landlord.

We then review the application, call all the necessary references, and determine if you would be a good fit for our animals! In the event you are approved and you aren't connecting with any of our current residents, that's okay! We keep approved applications for 6 months after approval, so if we receive a new resident who we believe would make for a good fit for you, we give you a call. At that point, it's only a matter of setting an appointment and sending you home with your new family member!
