Tulsa's Story
Tulsa is a senior gelding, estimated to be pushing 30 years old, who came into our care alongside his close companion, Pontiac. While Tulsa may be entering his golden years, he certainly hasn't gotten the memo.

This sweet old boy still trots around his pasture, greets each day with enthusiasm, and carries himself with a youthful spark that makes it hard to believe his age. He can occasionally play a little hard to catch, and he could use a few reminders about personal space, but we're honestly thrilled to see so much life and personality in him. Tulsa is goofy, happy, and full of character. Frankly, the whole barn seems to run on Tulsa Time these days.

Since arriving, Tulsa has been great to handle. He trailers well, was cooperative for the farrier, and has generally been an easy horse to work with as we get to know him better.

Like many senior horses, Tulsa does have some special needs. He is missing quite a few teeth and will require ongoing nutritional support to help him regain weight and maintain condition. He is currently enjoying soaked alfalfa pellets, and we will be introducing additional soaked feeds as needed. He can still manage some hay, and the fresh grass has been a welcome addition to his diet, but his future home should be prepared to provide the extra care and supplementation that comes with owning a senior horse.

What Tulsa is looking for most is not a job, but a soft landing. He deserves a home where he can enjoy good meals, comfortable care, and the kindness every old horse should know in retirement.

If possible, we'd love to see Tulsa adopted alongside Pontiac. The two share a strong bond and clearly enjoy each other's company. Tulsa has been a steady presence for his younger friend, and having him by Pontiac's side would help make the transition into a new home easier for them both. While Tulsa may not have as many years ahead of him as Pontiac does, he still has plenty of love, personality, and wisdom to offer - and we'd love to see him spend those years exactly where he belongs: cherished, comfortable, and home.
