Tom's Story
Sid has recently joined GSH as an auction save. This easy to handle boy is shows signs that he has been well handled and probably a working horse in his past. As he's shedding, we noticed that he has a brand, and are reaching out to his brand owner to see if they know him and can tell us more. But for now, we've found him to be friendly and seems to have all his basics down - leads, loads, ties, picked up his feet. He can't eat hay well so needs a dental exam, so is on a full senior pelletted diet right now, and as he's feeling better he has decided it's more fun to run circles around us than be caught, but he gives in quickly to a bucket.

Sid is likely broke to ride as we're seeing saddle scars as he sheds out, and he easily accepted the Bemer blanket with no concern.

We traced his brand and received confirmation of his history that confirms his age at around 20-21 and that he is a solid, good riding horse. He "loves to run" and has roped and drug calves at branding. While he may be a bit more mellow now, he'd likely love to continue to have a job, even if it's as a trail riding horse.

We will continue to work with him and see what he knows.
