Maysilee's Story
Merrilee & Maisilee are participating in the 2026 Dakota Showdown Horse Trainer Challenge and will spend April-August working with a pair of trainers. They will be available for adoption via a bidding process to approved adopters at the Finale on August 23, 2026. They are a bonded pair of donkeys and will only be adopted together.

Maysilee & Merrilee are a young pair of donkeys who are curious, kind, and cautious. Maysie is the friendlier of the two and really enjoys coming in the barn to hang out.

Both girls have grown to love grain and are easy to be around. As we work towards gentling, neither girl has shown any aggression or kicking, though they are both athletic and will jump over and through things to get away. Both girls have been trimmed on all four feet with sedation and show signs they have likely been trimmed in the past.

We are accepting applications for a home for the pair that is experienced with donkeys and willing to continue to patiently work with them to improve their education. Right now they are on the edge of feral, though kind.

The girls are younger, both under ten, so have a bright future with someone who will invest time into them. We think they'd be an absolutely adorable driving pair and their personalities are suited for it.
