Bernadette

Bernadette is an 18 year old Standardbred mare standing around 15 hands tall. This sweet mare enjoys all of the love and attention she can get! She arrived to our facility in February significantly underweight. She has been gaining weight well with proper nutrition.<br/><br/>Bernadette has a Standardbred freeze brand on her neck which traces her back to her racing days. While she was trained to drive, she is not broke to ride. She does respond to direct rein, but is not familiar with leg aids and is currently working on finding her confidence to go forward with a rider. She has been ridden at the walk with a leader on the ground. Our staff is continuing to put training rides on her, and with time we think she will make a nice hack horse!<br/><br/>If you are interested in adopting one of our equines, please complete the equine placement on our website, www.lastchanceranch.org. Equine placement fees range from $150 to $2000 depending on the age, training and abilities of the equine. The placement fee includes current vaccines, negative Coggins test, dental floating, de-worming and farrier trimming. All equine adopters must live within 3 hours of Last Chance Ranch in Quakertown, PA.
