Zuzu N 25113's Story

Zuzu will remain in the Recovery Room until clered for adoption. Her fosters will adopt after spay surgery.

Zuzu is a sweet, gentle, quiet, loving and curious petite girl who loves to be outside, roll in the backyard leaves, go on walks and just chill with her foster humans. Her soft and silky black fur, with only nominal grooming, is already beautiful and filling in to a typical cocker look. Zuzu takes a while to open up but likes to be petted and hugged. She has been quite compliant for some simple grooming and at the vet. So far, she is not very fond of being left alone for much time. Zuzu likes to eat but prefers soft food over kibble and she is not generally treat-motivated. So far, she has not shown much interest in playing with toys even though some are available to her. Although Zuzu sleeps through the night and accidents have been minimal, she is still working on understanding that going outside is a good time to eliminate, especially just before bed. Occasionally there has been a little leaking after she pees. Zuzu has typical cocker ears that will likely require regular cleaning to keep them healthy and her teeth have some tartar. She currently weighs about 20 pounds. When we walk Zuzu, she likes to take the lead but doesnt pull and she zigzags her way between things to sniff. So, she could use some leash training. We have not seen Zuzu with any children and only other dogs that are on the other side of the street when we walk her. She generally tolerates (mostly ignores) other dogs unless they bark aggressively. Zuzu has become quite attached to her foster mom and follows her around the house (even into the shower!). Zuzu is currently working on her crate training. When Zuzu is medically cleared for adoption, she will make a great loving addition to a family.
