Zuko's Story

Zuko is mostly actually mostly Great Dane, followed by cattle dog mix. He needs a full fenced yard, privacy preferred over chain link.
He’s not great at recall and likes to alert and chase if someone is walking by .. he does best if someone ignores his alert (bark), it seems as though his bark gets worse if someone reacts to it.
He barks at new people, but after a good sniff, he will settle down.
He’s the same way with new dogs, he’s amped to play and is vocal about it in a barking manner. He would likely benefit from a dog who has his same energy level - he loves to wrestle hard, then be a couch potato.
Zuko’s favorite game is tug, and he will even bring you the other end of the toy 🧸
He loves loves loves tiny baby kittens and gets along great with cats who aren’t intimidated by him.
He’s great on leash, and if the person passing doesn’t react to alert bark, he settles quickly.
Zuko will likely not do well in boarding. We know it’s a busy time of year, so we are hopeful that some will open their heart and home to a dog in need of some serious guidance and structure.
Zuko does have a little hitch in his giddy up, he was hit by a car as a puppy and we actually thought he would have to have his leg amputated. It was surgically repaired, but does get a little stiff with the cold weather ❄️
He is a good dog, just a little misunderstood ❤️
Please message us with questions or fill out the foster link below:
https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/foster/TGLR/Dog
