Meet Zorro's Story
To My Former Owner,
Is this how it was supposed to go? Was I supposed to almost die? Was I supposed to lose everything? Is this what you wanted for me? And if not, why did you abandon me? Why did I end up in a high-kill shelter?
I don't get it. You were my everything. We used to be friends...weren't we? Heck, I considered us to be family. So, I don't understand why you would just leave me like that. Was I not good enough for you? Did I do something wrong? What happened to us?
At first, I tried to make the best out of being in the shelter. I was a happy and lovable guy. Everyone who took me out for walks or interacted with me loved me! I guess they never loved me enough because no one ever busted me out of doggie jail...but still...I lived for those moments when people would get me out of my kennel and play with me.
As time went on and the shelter kept getting fuller and fuller....I ended up on the urgent list. The shelter tried networking with me like crazy. The volunteers at the shelter tried getting the word out about me like crazy..and still...I was only hours from being euthanized when PPFT was able to secure a foster family for me and bust me out of doggie jail. It is so hard for me to believe that I almost lost my life...and all because you didn't want me anymore. What had I done to deserve that?
I still ponder that sometimes but then I look around and realize that I am in a loving foster home now. I have other dogs to play with, get to be inside, and am having so much fun. I am really enjoying my new life, so I am trying hard to focus on it and not the past. I wrote you this letter because it is my way of closure I guess. I know I will never have the answers of why, but it still feels good to get it off my chest.
I wish I knew what happened...I really do. I have to let the past go though and that includes you as well. Despite everything, I still hope all is going well for you and that you will do better in the future...because family should be forever.....

To My Future Family:
Zorro here! I am a very handsome(if I do say so myself) Landseer mix. At least, that is what a lot of people are guessing. I have an absolutely stunning white coat with the coolest black markings all over. It is a good thing that my coat is super soft and fluffy too because I LOVE cuddling and being hugged. I am 100% a lover boy ♥
I am around 1.5 years old and weigh around 65lbs. I would consider myself to be a sensitive guy and love people! I do great on walks. I am pretty gentle. I may pull suddenly if I see a squirrel or bunny, but other than that have pretty good leash manners. I definitely love to use my sniffer, and am usually focused on checking out all the scents around! As far as meeting other dogs on walks, I am indifferent to them. I am more interested in checking out all the scents around me.
I would love to go places with my new family. Even though I am a younger dog, I would consider myself pretty well-behaved and think I would do well out in public. I can see myself really enjoying sitting on a restaurant patio and eating dinner out with my family! Given my love for spending time with my people and sniffing everything, I believe I would love to go hiking. I am a pretty fluffy dude though so we can't overdo it. I am a CAR DOG! I love car rides and will jump into the car on my own. Once in, I usually sit in the back and look out the window.
I do well with other dogs and may engage in play with them from time to time. I am a calmer dog but I still have my playful moments. I will chase balls and pick them up/ carry them around the yard. I do enjoy playing with toys, but I prefer getting pets and lovings from my people. I am not big on water. I did great at the groomer, but if it's raining, I will need encouragement to go outside in the rain to potty. I am going to tell you right now though that if I have to go outside and get wet...chances are I am going to make you go with me! ;)
Personality-wise, I do believe that I would do fine in an apartment setting as long as my new family had a good plan in place to exercise me. I am potty as well as kennel trained.
I think that about sums up everything that you should know about me. If you are interested in learning be sure to submit an application for me and then you will also get to review the evaluation form my foster mom filled out for me! I bet you can find some other details there about me!

FROM HIS FOSTER MOM ? ?
~Zorro is GORGEOUS!!! He is mostly white with a few big black spots/ blotches thrown in, and LOTS OF FLUFFY FUR! He has chocolate chip arms/ legs, double dew claws, and Clydesdale feet.
Zorro is a huge sweetheart and a goofball. If we were to describe him in one word, it would be Lover! He loves to get attention (mainly pets and rubs). He gets so excited and may start "talking" (whining with enjoyment) or running zoomies after getting some good petting. He is a goofball and enjoys making his foster humans laugh when he is in a silly mood. Zorro knows Sits and Shake. He is very intelligent and will be an incredible companion for the person(s) who adopt him. He is very much like a person vs a dog. We hope his new family will post lots of updates on him. He's been such a fun dog to foster!
Zorro would do well in a home with a family who is home most of the day to love him. He will play with the other dogs in his foster home but will choose to hug/ cuddle his foster humans vs. playing with the other dogs when given the chance.~
