Zoro's Story

MEET ZORO Livonia, MI Area

Zoro came to us as a stray — but you'd never know it. From the moment he arrived, he has shown us what a loving, goofy, and incredibly special dog he is.

Zoro is an American Pit Bull Terrier with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Despite some of his challenges, Zoro actually has a calmer temperament. He’s not a dog who needs to be constantly on the go — most of the time, he just wants to chill with his human, relax, and be by your side. And if you’re going somewhere, even better — because Zoro LOVES car rides!

Zoro enjoys going for walks and walks beautifully on a leash. He’s the kind of dog who just wants to be included and feel safe with his person.

Zoro does have some dog reactivity. While he has been able to coexist just fine with other dogs in certain situations, we believe the best and safest environment for Zoro — and any other animals — is a home where he can be the only animal. This will allow him to decompress, build confidence, and have his person’s full attention without the added stress of sharing his space.

Zoro also struggles with anxiety, particularly when left alone. He is currently on anxiety medication and is doing wonderfully on it. He has also proven to be quite the escape artist and has been able to break out of regular crates. Because of this, Zoro will come with an Impact crate to his adopter to help keep him safe and secure.

Zoro doesn’t need perfection — he needs patience, routine, consistency, and someone willing to give him time to settle in and trust that he’s finally home. Once he knows he’s safe, his sweet personality really shines.

Zoro is looking for a home where he can be someone's one-and-only. A quiet, predictable home with a person who enjoys having a loyal companion by their side could be exactly what he needs.
Zoro is ready for his second chance.
