Transport is included in our adoption donation.

Zora is a sweet, eager-to-please girl who's ready for her forever home. If you’re looking for a dog with tons of potential and a love for adventure, she might just be your perfect match!

Dog Manners & Play Style

Zora is a fun, active dog with a heart full of energy! She initially lacked confidence when hanging out with the resident dog. But with a slow transition/acclimation she’s a great companion who enjoys outdoor time and can hang out with other dogs while they play. Zora can get the zoomies and is a pro at jumping over things — we think she'd make an awesome agility dog! While she’s learning fetch, she loves the thrill of the chase and the running part. Zora does respond well to direction and knows when another dog might want to stop playing. She’s good with larger dogs and tends to ignore smaller ones.

Leash Walking: Zora is a curious and alert walker. She’s very aware of her surroundings, and while she may pull a bit when she sees other dogs, she’s still easy to handle. With a little more practice, she’ll be a pro!

Cat & Kid Friendliness

Zora is not a fan of cats (or squirrels!), so she’d do best in a cat-free home. While she has met kids (ages 16-21), Zora does best in a home with older children (10+), as sudden or unpredictable movements can be a little too much for her.

House & Crate Training

Zora is fully house-trained and knows how to go to her crate on command. She’s good with being crated for short periods (we recommend no longer than 4 hours), and she enjoys her quiet time at night in her kennel. She’s learning “wait” before eating and doesn’t have any food guarding issues, making her very easy to feed alongside other dogs.

Energy Level & Home Needs

Zora is a worker breed with some herding instincts, so she has a good amount of energy to burn. However, she’d be happy in an active home that enjoys regular walks and playtime. She’s the kind of dog who thrives in a home where she can get out her squiggles with a couple of walks each day and some mental stimulation. While she doesn’t need another dog, slow introductions would be important if there’s already a dog in the home.

Separation Anxiety & Training

Zora is fine when crated while you’re away, though we haven’t tested leaving her unsupervised outside of the crate. She does well with commands like "place," "sit," "stay," and "kennel," and she’s still learning “leave it.” Zora loves to be around people and is especially affectionate when everyone is together — her herding instincts come through here, as she likes everyone to be in the same room.

Personality

Zora is an affectionate, playful, and curious dog who’s always ready to learn new things! She loves being around her people and will happily cuddle and relax after a fun day. She’s friendly with guests and handles car rides well, lying down quietly in the back seat.

Fun Fact: Zora loves having the family together in one place, which makes her feel secure and loved.

Ideal Home

Zora’s ideal family would be someone active, but not necessarily super sporty. A retired couple or anyone with some experience or interest in dog agility would be a great fit! She'd also do well with someone who travels, like an RV enthusiast, as long as she gets plenty of activity time. She’s quiet enough for apartment living, but needs her regular walks and playtime to stay happy.

Additional Notes

Zora just wants to be loved and has so much potential to be an amazing companion. She’s smart, playful, and eager to please — she will thrive in a home where she gets plenty of attention, love, and maybe a few agility lessons!

Commands she knows:

Place

Sit

Stay

Kennel

Wait

OK (for release command)

"Potty" or "peepee"

"Outside"

"Come here"

Zora is looking for a forever home where she can give all her love and energy. Is that with you?

***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. ***

Interested in applying to adopt her?
