Zora's Story

Meet Zora!

This gem of a girl lost her owner tragically and was pulled out of the house in a traumatic fashion. She was a bit spicy for a few weeks after that event but has settled into her foster home and is thriving!

She is so incredibly innocent and clueless when it comes to socializing with other dogs, boundaries may not exist in her world for a bit!

She has been with cats, dogs and birds! She's got not ill will towards anything in her but she is suspicious of people being where they aren't supposed to be!

While GSD's can be tricky, she would make a great companion for someone wanting to get a feel for owning one of these wonderful dogs. She will require some effort to instill all her basic obedience but she's started and training is provided!

Currently her favorite things are to be glued to her favorite people, all the balls are awesome, stuffed toys are becoming fun, and she's slowly working on learning to play with other dogs but is both confused and entertained by their attempts to get her to play!

--------------------- About our process and fees---------------------

Our application: https://laststoprescue.com/adoption-app/

If you're interested in donating, sponsoring or volunteering please visit us at www.LastStopRescue.com or follow us on Facebook at www.Facebook.com/Laststoprescue.il
We treat these dogs as individuals with needs and to that end all of our dogs will have been in fosters no less than two weeks, they will have at least started training if not attend weekly classes and get daily training at home with the fosters!

Which means our longest residents will be the best trained, as long as they're with us we're going to keep socializing and working through any issues they may have.

When you adopt from us you will have a very clear picture of the dog you're meeting and on going support!

Our Fees are as follows:
Senior dogs over 7 are $450
Adult dogs are $650
Puppies under 1 year are $800
Specific breeds are $900

With each adoption you will be...
1. Given up to four hours of free training (from the foster and coordinator),
2. Full medical report of all findings,
3. All of the supplies needed for a new dog as we attain these for the care of each dog,
4. A full run down on their behavioral status, where they started, where they are and how far is left to go. This will be detailed in a training plan from us about what they can or cannot handle well and it will be discussed as much as needed.

We fully vet all of our dogs which is reflected in our adoption fee. On average we will pay about 600 dollars in medical per dog. Every dog gets a full blood panel, fecal/urine check, heartworm & tick panel and treatment if required, spayed/neutered, all shots and boosters, along with anything specific to their needs.
____________________________________

FOSTER NEEDED!
If you are interested in FOSTERING instead, please complete an application online at https://laststoprescue.com/volunteer/. Fostering means you will temporarily house this dog while we wait for their forever family to come along. Fostering is free as we provide all the basic supplies and support you need. Fosters are asking to transport the dog to vet appointments, adoption shows, or any additional events if your schedule allows. Fosters must be located in Illinois.
