Zoey - Paws Behind Bars Prison Trained's Story

Zoey is an incredibly sweet tempered girl who is looking for a family to help her shine! She was taken off the streets as a puppy but has not been properly socialized so she is hesitant about new things as she learns about the outside world. Blue Ridge Animal Rescue and Sanctuary pulled her into their program in December where she received vetting. She is in training in the Paws Behind Bars Prison Training Program and a prison environment is a somewhat overwhelming place to adjust to but she is doing her best brave face while she is learning to house train, socialize properly and absorb obedience training. She would do well with another dog in the home to help her boost her confidence but this is not a requirement. Her favorite place in the Paws Behind Bars program is the play yard and her time to interact with some of the other canines in the program! This lets her personality shine and helps her relax while romping around and having fun! She has bonded nicely with her dog handler and is working on basic obedience skills and loose leash walking. She is around 20 months of age and a nice size of around 40 pounds. <br/>Zoey would love to enjoy the start of this warmer weather playing in her own back yard and with a family of her very own! If you'd like to meet / adopt Zoey, please contact Blue Ridge Animal Rescue and Sanctuary at email blueridgerescue@aol.com for information and an application.
